Founded in 1951, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, made up of 92 members, is one of the largest in Italy, alongside the RAI National Orchestra in Turin and the National Orchestra of Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Throughout its history, it has played a key role in many important seasons of musical culture and its dissemination, significantly contributing to the musical landscape both in Sicily and nationally. The Sicilian Symphony Orchestra participates annually in numerous national and international events. It is based in the prestigious Teatro Politeama Garibaldi.
