Palazzo Sant’Elia, Palermo
In the vibrant heart of Palermo, within the historic walls of Palazzo Sant’Elia, the exhibition Pinakothek’a has been extended until July 20, 2025, continuing to captivate contemporary art lovers. Curated by art critics Sergio Troisi and Alessandro Pinto, the exhibition offers a selection of around two hundred works from the renowned Elenk’Art collection, providing a journey through the 20th century up to the present day.
The exhibition follows a chronological path, starting with works from the interwar period by artists like Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Donghi, and de Chirico, and progressing to Italian abstraction, represented by masters such as Accardi and Consagra. It also includes masterpieces of European informal art, with names like Hartung and Mathieu, as well as works that reflect the experimentation of the 1960s and 70s, featuring pieces by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Pascali, and Rotella.

An entire room is dedicated to Renato Guttuso, with about ten works, some of them large-scale, offering a deep dive into the expressive world of the famous Sicilian master. Additionally, the exhibition highlights the Sicilian art scene over the past 25 years, presenting works by members of the “School of Palermo” such as Alessandro Bazan, Francesco De Grandi, and Fulvio Di Piazza, emphasizing the dynamism and continuous evolution of the local art scene.

Pinakothek’a is not just an exhibition, but a true journey through the world of contemporary art, a mosaic of styles and movements that have defined the past century and continue to influence the present. It is an unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty and complexity of modern art, showcased in one of Palermo’s most captivating locations, Palazzo Sant’Elia.
